Volunteer with Dogs of Ella
Every paw raised brings us one step closer to a better life for animals in need. Whether you volunteer your time, donate supplies, or share our mission with others, your support makes a lasting difference.
Make a Paw-sitive Difference
At Dogs of Ella, we believe every dog deserves love, care, and a safe home. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission—helping us walk, feed, rescue, and care for countless dogs across Sri Lanka. Whether you’re a lifelong animal lover or just want to give back, there’s a place for you here.

Who can volunteer with Dog of Ella?
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, love animals, and be comfortable working in an outdoor environment with dogs of all sizes and personalities.
What kind of work will I do?
Volunteers support our daily shelter routine – feeding, cleaning, spending time with the dogs, helping with walks, and giving them social interaction and affection. Depending on your skills, you can also help with photography, social media, or small creative projects around the shelter.
Do I need experience with dogs?
No, you don’t need professional experience – just empathy, patience, and the willingness to learn how to handle and understand dogs. Our team will guide you through the daily routines.
How long should I stay?
We recommend a minimum stay of two weeks to allow enough time to get to know the dogs and the shelter routine. Longer stays are always welcome!
